Darrang district too joined hands with the Assam to celebrate the 53rd birth anniversary of heart throb artiste Zubeen Garg. Fruits and nutritious food packets were distributed among the patients in Darrang Cancer Center under the banner of Zubeen fan club, Mangaldai. Similarly in the evening, a large number of people gathered here at Gandhi Maidan where they all joined in singing the song ‘ Mayabini Ratir Bukut..’ Gurujyoti Das, former MLA of Mangaldai along with the local unit of Zubeen fan club took initiative in organizing the event in loving memory of the musical icon on his first birthday celebration after his mysterious death. Several other popular compositions of the legendary artiste were also performed. A song video titled ‘ Daware Abora’ composed by Ratul Kumar Das, inspector of schools, Darrang and dedicated to Zubeen Garg was also released on the occasion.
